Simultaneous Interpreting Service (SI)

Simultaneous Interpreting refers to interpretation which almost synchronizes with speech in source language. Simultaneous interpreters are the key players in the task, while SI equipment only plays a role in transmitting message in target language. That is to say, the equipment cannot interpret.

Therefore, communication among people speaking different languages in a conference must rely on simultaneous interpreters, who interpret instantly in audio control booth with equipment transmitting translation to the conference hall through a special audio channel. And then the brain or central controller of the equipment receives and sends task instructions to the infrared transmitter. As soon as the transmitter receives the instruction, it transmits the target language rendered by simultaneous interpreter. As for an audience, he just needs to put on an infrared receiver and tunes in to the same channel to choose a language.

When planning events requiring simultaneous interpreters, please see our Simultaneous Interpreting FAQ.

Loveconf is the first corporation in China engaged in simultaneous interpreting, with over 100 simultaneous interpreters in all major cities across China. Starting with English-Chinese SI service, we have developed our service in more languages including Japanese-Chinese, Korean-Chinese, Russian-Chinese, French-Chinese and German-Chinese. By 2009, we've been involved in over 100 conferences, followed by a double to more than 200 by 2010, which includes the Fourth World Urban Forum in Nanjing, the Eighteenth International Federation of Translators (FIT) World Congress, Microsoft Partner Conference and the Fifth China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit. We've set up an interpreter pool which is outstanding enough to cover different fields and languages.

Warning: We can't stress enough the importance of using experienced simultaneous interpreters. If you do not have the budget to engage simultaneous interpreters, we urge you to consider whether a Consecutive Interpreter would suffice rather than attempt to cut corners and have your event ruined.
